First advisory board meeting in Besancon, France
The first advisory board meeting of the RASEN project took place on June 3 and was attended by 5 of the 9 proposed members bringing a wealth of both industrial and academic expertise to our project. The advisory board meeting lasted approximately 4 hours, where the last hour was scheduled for feedback from the advisory board to the project. Since only 3 hours were available for presenting the RASEN project results to the advisory board, only a selected subset of the RASEN project was presented. In particular, we presented an overview of the project, application of results in a case study, an overview of the RASEN approach or methodology (with focus on legal compliance issues) and the application of tools in the case study.
The most important feedback received from the advisory board are summarized below:
- The RASEN approach was seen as very interesting to many of the members of the advisory board, especially as the project addresses communication between risk analysts and decision makers, a point that was especially highlighted.
- The project should continue in its strive for automation. This includes preparing an automated demo process and highlight the additions to already existing methodologies and tools.
- It was brought to the consortium’s attention that critical infrastructures would be a good domain for applying the RASEN approach.
- It was pointed out that the combination of risk assessment and legal assessment is a strong point of our approach. In addition the idea of an aggregated risk picture was seen as an interesting idea.
As a conclusion, the consortium decided to further collaboration with members of the advisory board focusing on issues related to passive testing / monitoring and assessment of legal compliance.
